The latest stage of the legacy Everton intend to leave behind when they head for Bramley-Moore Dock threw open its doors.

Blues boss Marco Silva formally opened The Blue Base, an £800,000 refit of an old community centre which will be home to elderly supporters living with dementia and suffering from social isolation, and which will form part of an evergrowing Goodison campus.

Everton CEO Denise Barrett-Baxendale, the driving force behind much of the Goodison Park legacy, explained at the opening: “Our Goodison campus is coming together beautifully.
